Optional: Donate to your SCB Section

The SCB Africa Section grew out of humble beginnings and now has an active membership of more than 500 individuals globally. This is the result of a meeting of thirty-five conservation scientists and practitioners who gathered in Nairobi, Kenya in September 2001 to deliberate on conservation biology issues in Africa.

The SCB Asia Section brings together experts from many nations and disciplines to address biodiversity science and policy across the largest continent.

The Europe Section was formed to promote conservation biology and its application to conserve biological diversity in Europe.

The Latin America and Caribbean Section (formerly the Austral and Neotropical American (ANA) Section) was formed in 2003 to unite conservation efforts in Central and South America. As part of the Society for Conservation Biology, the Section is able to pull on the influence and abilities of its members to facilitate efforts in this region.

The Marine Section of SCB provides a home for Marine Conservation Biology in order to further marine conservation science, research and public policy. Unlike other SCB Sections, the Marine Section does not have a specifically regional focus as marine issues are global.

SCBNA works with other scientific societies and conservation organizations based in North America to advance the application of science to conservation policy.

The Oceania Section of the Society for Conservation Biology represents the Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Island regions.
